Sex on TV – Is It Unavoidable?

  • Watch TV with your children (particularly when they're younger) , inject your values and help them develop skills of critical thinking. Discuss values and human character.  Point out the discrepancies between the truth of God's word and what is being displayed on TV.
  • Add your editorial comments. For example, if you're watching TV with your older children and inappropriate language or content suddenly appears, address it right away. The goal is to help your child become a discerning viewer. You won't always be around to be the TV Guide.
  • Take note of even the commercials. With the Super Bowl coming up, I'm guessing we'll see clever advertisements for products we don't want our kids to buy.  And I'll be watching for the Tim Tebo, pro-life ad.  There's one I can support wholeheartedly!
